Rent a camping pot for Mount Elbrus

A camping pot should match the actual group, menu, stove and water plan. It is not required simply because a trip uses tents: many organized programs provide group kitchen equipment, so confirm what is supplied before adding a personal pot.

Choose capacity from the cooking plan

Count the people who will share the pot and decide whether it is for boiling water, preparing a meal or both. Too little volume forces repeated heating; an unnecessarily large pot is heavier, harder to stabilize and may not fit the selected stove or pack.

Match the pot to the actual stove

Check the base diameter against the fully opened pot supports of the unlit stove. The pot should remain central without rocking. Compatibility cannot be established from a catalog photograph: the complete stove-and-pot system must be checked at collection.

Inspect handles and lid

Open, fold or attach the handles as designed and confirm that they lock or remain stable. Check fasteners, lid fit, rim, base and any supplied grip. A loose handle, sharp damaged edge or lid that will not seat correctly needs attention before issue.

Inspect the cooking surface

Look for cracks, deep deformation, heavy residue, damaged coating or corrosion. Ordinary cosmetic marks on used cookware should be recorded, but a defect affecting stability, cleaning or handling requires another item. Do not scrape rental cookware with an improvised metal tool.

Plan handling before heating

Decide where the pot will stand, who controls the stove and where hot water will be poured. Keep the cooking area clear of people, loose clothing and flammable equipment. Use only the handle or grip system supplied and understood during collection.

Pack cookware separately from fuel

Return the pot clean and dry and pack it so the rim and handles cannot damage other equipment. Do not store leaking or dirty fuel parts inside cookware used for food or drinking water. Keep the lid secured so it does not disappear in the pack.

• confirm group size, menu and required capacity;
• check the pot on the actual unlit stove;
• operate handles, grips and lid;

Use the complete system responsibly
