Board length, width and binding position should suit the rider rather than be chosen on looks. Beginners may prefer the complete snowboard-and-boots set so every part can be checked together.

How to choose a snowboard for Mount Elbrus rental

Board-only rental is intended for a rider bringing compatible snowboard boots. The board is supplied with bindings; boots, helmet, goggles, protection and clothing are separate unless listed in the confirmed request.

Send the rider’s measurements and experience

Provide height, weight, measured foot length, current boot size, ability and stance if known. Describe whether the rider is learning, controls both edges and linked turns, or rides confidently. A first-time rider who does not know regular or goofy stance should say so rather than guess.

Length is not chosen from height alone

Height gives a starting range, weight affects how the board flexes and ability affects how demanding the setup should be. A beginner does not benefit from excessive length or stiffness. The exact brand, shape and model depend on suitable stock for the dates.

Width must work with the boots

The footprint of the actual boot affects suitable board width. Excessive toe or heel overhang can cause problems, while an unnecessarily wide board may be slower to move from edge to edge. Bring both boots so staff can center them in the bindings.

Confirm stance without guessing

Tell staff the known lead foot and familiar angles, but do not request a copied setup from another person. Binding position must be checked for the individual and the actual boots. New riders should receive a practical starting setup rather than inventing precise angles online.

Operate every binding component

Insert both boots and fasten all ratchets. Straps should lie correctly, highbacks and baseplates should be secure and the boot should not move after closure. Practice fastening and releasing the system in gloves before leaving the shop.

Inspect the board

Check the base, edges, top surface, binding discs, straps, ratchets and highbacks with staff. Record existing damage. Do not change binding position or attempt an improvised repair after issue.

Add personal protection separately

A helmet and goggles should be fitted together. Wrist, knee or elbow protection, gloves and clothing are separate rental items. Their presence in a related-product block does not mean they are included with the snowboard.

Piste and off-piste are different decisions

Renting a snowboard does not establish that off-piste travel is suitable. Ability, conditions, route choice, group procedures and avalanche equipment require a separate decision and, where applicable, instruction from the guide.

Stop if the system changes

If a strap, ratchet, highback or board behaves unusually, stop riding and contact Rock’N’Rent. Availability and the exact board are confirmed after the request and physical compatibility check in Terskol.

Your guide’s equipment list comes first.

Binding setup affects control and comfort. Rental staff should prepare the system, and riders should stay within their ability.
