C.A.M.P. CORE LOCK is a wide HMS screwgate for belaying, rappelling, a Munter hitch and double-rope handling.

Its large opening and round section provide more room for knots and ropes than compact D-shaped models. The extra mass is justified only when that geometry serves the intended task.
Check before payment. Make sure the device or knot sits in the broad working end and the sleeve cannot press against rock. Check the belay-device instructions for permitted carabiner geometry.
The advantage of a wide CORE LOCK
CORE LOCK is a large HMS screwgate with a 25 mm opening and generous working area. This geometry helps with a Munter hitch, belay device, double ropes or several compatible elements, but its 81 g mass is justified only when the task needs that room. A round section and broad shape still require correct orientation and a closed sleeve.
Pre-purchase check. Place the exact device or rope arrangement in the carabiner and keep the load in the broad working end rather than against the gate. Inspect the thread, spring, nose and 23/11/6 kN markings. Rock pressure on the sleeve, cross-loading or overcrowding calls for a different arrangement, not extra force on the sleeve.
Compare before choosing
Compare CORE LOCK with NITRO LOCK and smaller D-shaped screwgates through an assembled system. CORE provides the most internal room of these options and can handle bulky knots or multiple compatible elements more comfortably, but it is heavier and can invite overcrowding. Extra space does not make every multi-directional or three-way arrangement acceptable.
After purchase
Keep the instructions and identify the carabiner’s role in the rack. Before use, inspect the body, nose, gate spring, thread and markings and confirm that the sleeve closes completely without contact from the device. Protect it from sand, salt and chemicals. A major fall, cross-load, sleeve damage, deformation or gate malfunction requires quarantine rather than field adjustment.
